The Deal The mood-based music streaming service Songza has raised USD 4.7m equity financing round with multiple investors including Amazon, Deep Fork Capital and Metamorphic Ventures. IEG - Investment Banking Group has acted as financial advisor to lead investor Junkermann Group.

The Partners Songza is a music streaming and recommendation service offering curated playlists based on the time of day or a user's mood or activity. Junkermann Group is led by Nicole Junkermann, a German investor and entrepreneur. Junkermann began her business career as a co-founder of football gaming portal Winamax. Following its sale in 2001, she invested in newly-founded Infront Sports and Media, a sports media rights agency.

The Perspective With this round, Songza scaled its sales team, developed native advertising and expanded its own talent pool by hiring a dedicted brand manager. The main goal is it to make ads that are not simply palatable but a desirable and naturla part of the user experience.
